But dude, religion is harmless .....

What about the moderate religious people? Te ones who don’t use their religion to discriminate or to wallow in ignorance, what harm can religion possibly do?

I really don’t have anything against religious people as long as their views are not hurting others. My husband is a Christian, so are my most of my friends. I also have a few Muslim friends. Even on YouTube I am subscribed to a few Christians, Pagans, Wiccans and so on, and I really like them. I have come to understand that some people feel the NEED to have some type of spirituality in their lives. And I have no problem with that.

But this is how I see this: it’s like having all your possessions stocked in a basement that has an invisible door. You are sure that the door is real and you lock it yourself everyday, so you feel safe. But the reality is that anyone can get into your basement and still all your shit … and you won’t even know what hit you and how the hell could that happen.

I haven't slept in almost 36 hours

well.. most of the time i think most ppl need a religion becoz they need a 'personal god' that they can relate to. it might be that we as the human species are terribly lonely... well.. the only species that we know so far in this universe that is capable to reason with our own existence. so in our loneliness we create these gods to become a sort of caretaker for our need.. like creating for us a place for us to stay and live i.e. Earth ... so that deep down we can believe that we might not in any way neglected in this grand scheme of thing that called 'existence'....

Well said. I'm from a community in South Africa where just saying you are a atheist isn't considered very cool. All sorts of problems may await you when it comes to job applications, family gatherings etc.

I'm what you would call a closet atheist. :)

Like in "A Clockwork Orange" if you're forced to think one way or another you're still not thinking for yourself and you're not really free. I'd take the freedom of religion and have to deal with people I disagree with than be forced to conform with the popular ideology. I wish there was more tolerance and less close-mindedness going around, but I don't want to impose on others what they should do for themselves.

"My husband is a Christian..."Then why do you shoot to be so offensive toward Christianity as a whole in some of your videos? Couldn't you have enough love for your husband to simply respect what he holds dear, even if you don't believe in any of it yourself? How would you like it if he went public, in front of hundreds of people, and made fun of ideas and beliefs that you happen to cherish?

I don't mean to sound aggressive toward you and I'm sorry if this post sounded that way. But I just can't understand how you can be so resentful toward an entire belief system when the man you love happens to buy into it. Has he even seen some of these videos that you've made?

Maybe it is her love for him that encourages her to want him to educate himself with REALITY & FACTS.

Just as the religious person feels they have a universal truth and want their children & loved ones to be enlightened too, so it is with anyone who understands something so clearly & concise.

True...people of all persuasions tend to want to "enlighten" others to their ways of thinking. There's nothing wrong with that in and of itself. I was talking about her approach in her video endeavors. She can keep on being as offensive as she wants, but odds are all she'll wind up doing in the end is preaching to the choir. Has anybody ever won any converts by p!$$ing off their audience in advance? You can always draw more flies with honey than you can with vinegar...I don't care what it is you're trying to teach.

Maybe she simply doesn't judge people who aren't judging her or others, and maybe her husband is wise enough to recognize this. I consider myself an agnostic (as I use a stricter definition of atheist than many seem to and who am I to deny the POSSIBILITY of a creator out there somewhere). Anyway, I find her style to be refreshing. I've only discovered her today, so I haven't yet seen all of her videos, but I've seen nothing that deserves: "Then why do you shoot to be so offensive toward Christianity as a whole in some of your videos?" I have a lot of Christian friends (whom I have defended when atheists start attacking all religious people). I've not seen anything in her work that has done this.

"you are one pretty WOMAN". *laughs* i often wonder if THE ZOMGitsCriss would deliver the same impact if not wrapped in both physical beauty and luscious accent. What if ZOMGitsCriss had an extra chromosome yet provided the same words that so many barely think about?! Who then would buy into becoming an avid follower? Would people still say: "Your interpretations regarding the life that surrounds each of us is wholly enlightening; sparking the embers of countless minds across the planet. Keep up the good work retard!" hmm, no mention of stunning beauty there. but that is not how it is.

to the person that is offended by her.. i dont think she is offensive at all. matter of fact i think that she is actually NICE than most ppl i know that shove their beliefs in your face whether atheist or theist. ive seen alot of her videos and like carl m says.. she is very refreshing :) although very strongly opinionated maybe thats y you seem to be offended... but dont be. thats a very good quality for me anyway...

your youtube videos are intelligent and amazing..i almost cant believe they are real considering the normal drivel that is all over the internet.

religion is very important and something to be respected. in times when it was needed, it provided a sense of morals and values, and helped to create community. without it, we would never have been able to evolve into the societies and communities we know today. for its contribution to mankind alone, it is worthy of respect. at the same time, had this not happened, we wouldnt have known the difference anyway. que sera sera.

that being said, the bible, if one chooses to read it, should be looked at as a collection of awesome stories. like an aesops fable, if you will. take what brings you value, discard the rest. i cant believe anyone would believe 2 of every kind of animal would be loaded onto a giant boat, but if you look at the story as a fable, teaching us that we have to behave kindly towards each other or everything will get super fucked up and our planet will be destroyed, its got a pretty decent point.

three cheers to your videos and posts, you're a great value to the web!

I'm still baffled as why K-Rina would fall in love with a christian, and vice versa.I truly believe their relationship will not last. The more I think about it the more i know I could not respect their ignorance.

Hey K-Rina.
Firstly, I just want to say how happy I was when I was linked your videos by a friend. When I watched them, I felt like it was me talking! After watching some more videos I just felt like I couldn't say it better myself!
Secondly, I have to admit that even though I am a female, 19, engaged to a guy, I find you strangely, extremely attractive, I think it's your looks (really nice appearance) mixed with that you seem like a fairly intelligent person. Greetings from Sweden (the least religious country in the world)! /YH

There are many people who are very narrow minded. It is because they like simplified truth of dogma instead of the more complex realm of wisdom.

I am an atheist too, yet I don't think spirituality is just a "need" that some people have. It's something deeper than that. It's what you might call "natural metaphysics" and comes from the need we have to justify our existences with some sort of ontology (conscious or unconscious).

But after you think about that... you see that this is also a physical need. We have to have some metaphysics--even accepting the universe as a given presupposes a metaphysics.

If this is done, one is left to wonder where this need for a metaphyisics comes from. And there, if you will, suddenly comes a new territory for spirituality; one that could actually even be true (and not simple "new-agey" stuff about karma and gods in our soul and the holographic universe and whatnot).

Spirituality has deeper roots than meets the eye. Firmer, too. It's just that mostly organized religion makes a travesty of it.

"But I just can't understand how you can be so resentful toward an entire belief system when the man you love happens to buy into it."

It is because she seems to be a person who can distinguish between a personal relationship and an reason based/ethics based ideology; basically not siding with one or another idea based on just a shared common attribute.
